The Energy Policy Act of 2005 provides a federal tax credit to consumers who make certain Qualified Energy Efficiency Improvements to their homes. To qualify, a building envelope component (window or door) must meet or exceed the criteria establised by the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) for the climate zone in which the product is installed.
